In the XIX century, even though production methods have improved with the adoption of hydraulic systems & turning machinery, Biretta strives to remain faithful to the Handcrafted originals. In the fulcrum of this tradition Biretta was founded in 1945. It is one of the few that even today continue to produce table and kitchen tools in turned wood. Biretta is a combination of the wise mastery of traditional craftsmanship using the most modern equipment. Each Product is entirely produced in our facility in order to guarantee the highest quality control. You wouldn't store them in an unsealed jar. The grinder has to be removed in order to easily dump the grounds into the pot. The bottom of the grinding burr has no centering bearing so the burr flops around and the resulting grounds are a mix of different sized chunks. It needs suction cup feet, or at least rubber feet or you will scratch the heck out of your kitchen counter. I like the locking grind adjustment screw and the old fashioned look.
