The glass is thick and durable. It is heavier than you would expect and would be difficult to accidentally tip over, which is a plus. Every once in a blue moon a straw falls to the side of the holder, but's not bothersome or difficult to retrieve. Plus it came with straws! I'm sure this costs the company just pennies to include, but it's a super nice touch, and you get to break it out with those classic red and white straws right out of the box. Highly recommend! A straw holder really gives your kitchen/bar/dining room/whatever a nice touch.
