I have used it on many sticky labels, etc. It will remove caulk and silicone and won't damage the surfaces. **Q: I need to remove the caulk from my tile surround, but worry about solvents as they can weaken/damage grout. Is this safe for use on grout?** A: I don't think Desolvit would work on caulk removal. It certainly would not harm the grout. **Q: Would this work on gross kitchen cabinets or will it completely take the finish off?** A: It dissolves any thing sticky or greasy. Spray it on a terry cloth and then rub your cabinets. If really gross spray directly on the surface and wait 10-20 minutes. It won't take paint off. On the label it says "use on virtually any surface ... autos clothing, concrete. fiberglass, cured paint, wood and skin " i have not used it on fiberglass, but everything else I have with no problem **Q: Will this remove old caulking from concrete so that new caulking can be applied?** A: Based upon my experience, this product works best at breaking down newly applied caulking and adhesives. It does a good job in this regard. There are other products available that will do a better job of breaking down the old/dried caulking. However, I have not found anything that will eliminate the “elbow-grease”.
