First, it has sort of a salt-shaker top so I applied glitter primer and then "shook" the glitter on until desired. I also applies it with a makeup brush for more preside designs. It wears well, lastly mostly all day. I would say yes you can use it for 'face painting' **Q: Is this glitter biodegradable?** A: No **Q: Can i use this is lipgloss?** A: I think it would be hard to keep it on. Maybe with the right mixing medium but even then it would scratch.
