Other leashes do the job fine but do wear out. This one should last much longer. I haven't used it yet but I expect it to work fine. The coiled elastic is not too stiff so I expect it to easily stretch out while in use then recoil out of the way while the paddle is stowed. What I mean is it is stretchy enough to use but not strong enough to pull on your paddle while in use or across your lap when fishing. ### ⭐⭐ Broke the first time it was used - ignored by customer "service" *by S***L on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on August 16, 2016* I bought 2 of these, one for myself and one for my son. They looked and sounded like a good idea. The first time we used them, my son dumped his kayak. I pulled to the side to wait when I saw his paddle float by. I paddled about 1/4 mile and finally captured his paddle and walked back to where he was stranded. I ask him why he did not use his leash. He said he was and showed me the broken leash. I contacted the manufacturer through their website and got no response at all.
