I work on the computer long hours, like many people in this age, and have neck and shoulder issues.When I first used the  TherMedic Qi-Point Heating Pad , I thought it was defective, because I plugged it into my computer USB hub. The hub didn't have enough voltage to properly power the heat pad, so it seems to work best directly plugged into a computer or with a USB to outlet plug converter of at least 1A. You can tell if it is under powered because the lights won't come on.I noticed a difference the day after my first use. When I woke up my lower back was not as tight as it usually is. It was easier to do my yoga and I felt well rested.It works very well, though the high setting maybe a little on the hot side for someone who is heat sensitive. It heats up quickly and unknots my tight shoulder easily. It also works well on monthly cramps and tight back muscles.After talking to my acupuncturist, he said that it might help my IC. I have IC and see my acupuncturist for help in keeping under control and staying pain-free. I sometimes feel a tightness in my lower abdomen from my IC when I eat certain foods. I am slowing adding some foods back into my diet as my condition improves, but sometimes they still affect me. The TherMedic Qi-Point heating Pad is a great addition to my IC therapy.My only two minor complaints. One is that the cord is a little short to comfortably reach an outlet and relax at the same time. I would rather it be a bit on the short side than too long though. At least the cord won't get tangled up and damaged easily. The second is the gel pad did not last a full year. I use it very often though, so I really can't take off any stars for that.
