For Darcy Lock, reluctant 14yr old Secret Agent it really is. The only place of safety when the U.S. President wants her to 'disappear' might end up being the most unsafe place of all. With new allies and old enemies all sharing a castle that's playing host to a vital political meeting, Darcy has to use all of her resourcefulness to stay ahead of trouble. But trouble is catching her up - fast!Another action-packed thriller for my favourite globe-trotting heroine. Read 'Ringmaster' and 'Empty Quarter'for her preceeding adventures, but they are all good, even out of order. Julia Golding gives plenty of value for money,with exotic locales, death-defying escapes and plenty of political intrigue. Unlike Bond, Darcy relys on her wits rather than gadgets to keep her safe,and the plots are realistic, amping up the sense of danger. Can't wait for the next book, and if you haven't read this series, you are seriously missing out. Basically, Darcie is a not-so-average 14 year old, who happens to be a spy (read Ringmaster). She is laying low with Stingo's parents, and is actually getting to be a normal teen. This would be great, if the U.S. President wasn't trying to find her (read Empty Quarter). As she is draged away from normality, a plot unfolds, and yet again Darcie is caught up in the middle of it. and to top it off, we get a Doctor Who reference (guess what - read Deadlock). As we meet with characters new and old, you won't be disappointed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a read *by B***M on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2013* I bought this book after reading the first two books in this series and it was in a similar vein- a fast-paced action/adventure story. I liked the characters but I thought the plot line was a little weak in places.
