It’s smooth and easy to write on. It came very well packaged and in perfect condition. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Looks nice and serves its purpose! *by E***. on March 26, 2017* This desk pad arrived in a box within another box so it was fully protected from the elements outside. It's a nice leather blotter for an expensive credenza I just purchased and looks good on top. My only wish is that it had been not so brown but this was my own 'mistake' - it really is a chocolate brown as described, not a walnut brown which would have been a better match for me. The pad seems to stay in place if I don't put my elbows on top. The entire top is leather and the same color as the side rails which keeps it from being obtrusive - personally I don't plan on using blotter paper but if I was I'd definitely use a brown to keep it toned down versus a stark white. For my purposes this is a good product and appears to be well made - I'm retired and only use a desk/credenza for paying bills and to hide ugly cable wires, router, modem, printer etc. so I'm pleased!
