Review: The miracle blender for pencils. - I’ve heard about gamsol from artists and videos online. Was worried about its toxicity, but of course always best to store it properly. I’ve used it for several colored pencil artwork already and its made backgrounds and other large areas that require a lot of color to blend smoothly and fast! I wish I ordered a bigger bottle. It’s transformed my artwork and has given me the coverage and results I’ve always wanted, no white little specs! I noticed it works well with wax based pencils. It works with oiled based pencils like the Polychromos, but it can get a little particular if not careful. It’s non-yellowing. It dries very fast. It applies well as I use a paper towel first to get the access off before applying to the drawing. It’s not sticky and it’s almost like water. It’s a natural brush cleaner as well which is amazing but always best to wash them after each use. I wouldn’t recommend anything better than Gamsol to blend and transform colored pencil work.

**Q: if you gamsol to blend prismacolor pencils, do you need to use special watercolor paper?**
A: No. Put a little bit into a jar with cotton balls. Then take your blending stump and touch it to the cotton balls to allow it to absorb a bit of the liquid. You don't want the stump soaked, just damp so you don't need much and the cotton balls allow you not to have to dip the stump directly into the liquid, getting it too wet. You then just use the blending stump to move the color. After it dries, you can apply more layers. Just be sure you have already a few layers down as it works with the wax. Not enough layers and it doesn't give the desired effect.

**Q: Can i use this on any adult coloring book?**
A: Yes! Any coloring book (I own several different ones) which is just one more reason I LOVE THIS STUFF!! (:

A: There is an excellent tutorial about this.  If you "Google" the words "Gamsol magic technique" the first hit that appears is Splitcoaststampers - Gamsol Magic Technique.  It is a step by step procedure that tells you what tools you will need and how to use them.

**Q: is gamsol thicker than odorless paint thinner?**
A: I don't know if it thicker.  Gablin is thin and clear and maybe a bit oily looking but works great and doesn't smell.

I use it to dilute oil paints. It works GREAT for that. Zero smell. I enjoy using it more than linseed oil. Will definatly buy more in the future. P.S. It is good for cleaning brushes also.
