Review: Fujifilm XM5 - superb compact 26mp classic - I found this camera best priced on desertcart with the 15-45 kit lens. I have always been a Fujifilm fan, but this is the best combination I have found for compactness, ease of use, interchangeable lens with the image quality of all the X100 series - i have had them all. It is a small camera. I changed the lens out for the XF 16-50 which is a more robust and user friendly lens which gives superb results with this camera. You cannot fail to produce good images - it is such a great little bit of kit. I do miss the eye piece, and looking at the screen to take images wouldn't look great at a wedding as a pro - but this camera isn't aimed at that market. It does what it is supposed to very competently. Battery lasts for the intended 300 shots, write speed is lightning fast, and the wifi transfer of images to the app on Android is a doddle and works much better than any of the other Fujifilm models I have had. The camera is weather sealed so has the reassurance of durability under most conditions.

Cons: - Doesn’t come with a battery charger pack. You’re expected to use your own USB-C to charge directly into the camera. It’s a bit rich not to include it with a £850 camera, but you can buy these chargers for cheap. - Not enough hand grip. Even with small hands it’s not the most comfortable camera to hold. But again, this is no issue if you buy a third party hand grip. - Clunky menus. It’s just not up to par with Canon or Sony’s menus which feel easy to understand. It’s a learning curve for sure, but will be fine with time.

I found this camera best priced on Amazon with the 15-45 kit lens. I have always been a Fujifilm fan, but this is the best combination I have found for compactness, ease of use, interchangeable lens with the image quality of all the X100 series - i have had them all. Coming from my iphone 15 pro max, i was very impressed with the quality. This is my first stand alone camera, I have read reviews complaining about EVF and in body stabilization, these factors don't bother me. The lens that came with the camera rages 15-45mm focus and its great. I took this camera with me to Geneva and had some great photos. One gripe i have though is that 4 custom film simulations are not enough. If you are looking for a good fujifilm camera thats light weight, compact and wont break the bank then look no further! perfect for a portable camera
