The peak is of good length to keep the sun/rain out of your face. The material is light and the vents give some relief of heat but not as much as I would have hoped for. Every now and then i feel a bit of cooling air into the cap but nothing to write home about. The band on the front of the cap soaks up a good deal of sweat (I sweat a lot) and I actually found that once that becomes saturated, the sweat worked its way down the peak of the cap and dripped off the end.
