The mount has two sides, one size 2-3" and the other 4-5". While it takes over the camera cold shoe, it has a bar that creates a couple extra cold shoe mounts (e.g. for a cold shoe microphone). As shown in the pictures, it is made to fit the top of camera hot shoe and then extend forwards several inches. It does not work with a Sony ZV-1, because the top of the camera is very shallow and the GLIDE protrudes far into the field of view. Although not billed as teleprompters, there are much simpler products that mount a phone directly on a cold shoe, and those could probably work as simple teleprompters.
