Review: Beautiful Set - I think this product is getting some bad press. I will say it is a bit high maintenance but I think smaller tanks are, in terms of cleaning and care, it just takes a bit more to do. In this case there are three small tanks and a reservoir collection on the bottom. It is visually very pretty to look at and I think if you are looking for unique things you should be willing to put in a little extra time for care. This set was easy to assemble. I fumbled with the lids just a little bit but I figured them out. With the lids in place the grate keeps the fish in place just fine. I placed both a heater in the bottom reservoir and a submersible light. Over the top of the tanks with clear lids I placed a bright white LED goose necked lamp with a light bar. So I can do blue light at night and use the white light to truly see my two bettas and the temporary spot for an African Dwarf Frog who had a place in a bigger aquarium but was being picked on. The flow on the filter is fine for my fish with the center spot perhaps having the calmest water, though my betta are fine in the current. I did have a scare setting it up like other people have talked about, I took the lid off the last bay and using a net put in the final betta and he swam so quick from the net he went in through the waterfall space and down into the reservoir! For a moment I could not find him but thanks to the reviews I knew where he had gone. I found him easily and all is well. I do have tape on the lids because I am concerned about my cat's curiosity but they hold on well enough I am not really that worried. Anyway, this tank is beautiful and my fish are happy. My frog is enjoying his temporary home too. I think there's a possibility of buying another set. I wouldn't let the less happy reviews stop you from buying this product and use that advice only to help you look out for possible problems during assembly and after. I'll update if any problems come up later, but so far I am very pleased.
Review: Betta Blockers, LOLz - ((Update below original review)) Prior to purchase and after reading some reviews, I thought I would have to put blockers in between the tank outputs to prevent the bettas from getting into the other tanks... To prevent this KEEP THE LIDS ON - the lids have built-in grates that prevent this. Water flow - TURN that little pump all the way DOWN (default is all the way high, low & high marked on the pump). Put a small submersible heater in the bottom (unless your room temperature is 76-80), it fits and there is an opening for the cord - pump cord fits through it as well. The tank is quiet - initially, I was worried because of the "waterfall" in the last compartment, but as long as the water level is at the "Max" line - all is quiet! Note that initial filling was done by adding water halfway to each compartment and the filter reservoir, turning on the pump and then raising water level until Max reached (Max water level indicated on the front of Betta Falls). The filter cartridge is "Aqueon QuietFlow Filter Cartridge, Medium," (available for purchase on desertcart or at Petco). I added live plants and I'm letting the tank cycle before adding bettas (about a week). The water flow (dialed down to low) is not pushing the plants around, so it's enough to keep the water circulated with the heater. I'll edit this review after adding bettas if there are any problems, though I don't expect any. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 7/16/18 Update Made some modifications to the tank (photos attached). I took some thin plastic grate (purchased from a home improvement store, very cheap), cut it, and secured it over the grates with small zip ties. I did this because the betta in the first tank was getting his tail sucked through (he was staying in the tank, but unable to move). This modification fixed that. I went ahead and moved this particular betta to the last tank because he's small and the flow there is the least. I also affixed the plastic grate in the last tank. The middle betta is perfectly fine and did not have any trouble, however, I added the plastic grate to his tank as well just in case. I trimmed his grate to just below the water release point though because the longer grate was creating more of a suction and he spends more time at the top. I recommend putting a larger betta in the first tank. The older betta I moved there is completely happy. I do turn off the filter to feed them (left off for about five minutes). The leaves in the photos are Indian Almond Leaves (beneficial to bettas and lowers the ph naturally).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Since bettas naturally live in puddles and still water, won't the waterfall feature upset them even if the grate is fixed to prevent tank "visitors"?**
A: I have this tank and it’s cool but as soon as we went to clean is it was a mess. Normally I do a 20 percent water change and this makes u do 50. Also my bettas have hated the flow of the tank and I’m in the process of getting new tanks for all 3 bettas

**Q: can I put 3 tetras in one of these 3 tanks?**
A: Most tetra species get more than 1.5 inches each at adult size. Some species of tetras getting up to 4.5 inches adult size. Putting tetras in this small of a tank is not recommended, because it will stunt them pretty bad and will shorten their life span. Professionally we recommend tetras to be in no less than 10 gallons. They do best in schools of 4 to 6 or more and need to be kept between 78-80 degrees as they are prone to stress and disease if kept in cooler water. Avid tetra owner for 15 years. Just my two cents.

**Q: is it a big tank**
A: Bettas are one or the most abused fish. It should be in a tank no less than 5 gallons. it is a pet not a desk ornament

**Q: What type of filtration cartridge replacements does this take? Can I have a name or link to them?**
A: I don't use the replacement cartridges anymore. I bought filter sponges that filled the filter compartment and bio max. I haven't had to replace either, just to be the sponge with tank water occasionally. If the water is cloudy I'll add some carbon for a few weeks.

I've had this tank for over 2 years now. I lost 2 fish early on (one I think was stressed by the current before I modified, and the other somehow jumped out--also before I modified--but the third (a female) has been thriving and recently celebrated her second birthday. The other 2 fish I have now are doing well and I've had them for over a year. with modifications to weaken the current, a heater and allowing it to cycle i am happy (and my fish seem happy and thriving) with this tank. But out of the box--I don't recommend it.

### ⭐ So disappointed and feel real bad for my Betta
*by J***. on August 8, 2024*

When I recieved this I was very happy because this looks very nice and I was able to put 3 of my male Betta's together, the aquarium is very eye pleasing. And the following day I went to greet them as usual before I start my day and notice 1 of my male Betta's missing, I thought what the heck?!, I thought that maybe it might of jumped out of it's container so I looked all over and nothing, then I noticed the filter was off which was weird since the filter was working properly last night... I decided to lift up the empty container and there was my Betta in the holding tank of water! I scooped him up with my fishnet and after I put him back into his container I noticed his Finns looked all chopped up!😭😭😭😔, my beautiful Betta... went through the water fountain to the bottom tank, he is still alive and now I have him quarantined and giving him medicine for relief and hopefully his finns will grow back in time. I returned because of this experience, as a lover of animals including fish, this hurt seeing that my beautiful betta ended up looking like this, like I said time will tell if his Finns will grow back with medication I'm giving him..... I have a total of 5 Male Betta and 6 Female Betta's, I love the beauty of these fish and enjoy watching how they come to me when I either am going to feed them or just getting near to say hi to them❤️ the female Betta's are all in a 10 gallon aquarium and live together just fine along with some Tettras for company, it may have been a fluke that this happened, but anyone who wants to purchase just be aware that it could happen..... P.S. I do want to add, the water flow WAS gentle and I also had water plants near the fountain where water flows in each tank and a plant where they can rest over it, it is very eye pleasing as I stated when I began writing the review, I just didn't want to risk my other Betta's being injured too.....
