Solid value for the money ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable Rain Jacket for Travel, But Not Ideal for Intense Hikes in Warm Weather *by T***M on November 4, 2025* I put this Columbia Glennaker through some serious testing during just under 3 weeks in Peru at the start of rainy season, and it definitely kept me dry. Got caught in the rain on multiple day hikes and two treks, and the waterproof shell held up perfectly. The jacket is impressively light and rolls up small enough that I could store it in my backpack's water bottle holder for easy access - super convenient when the weather changes quickly. The packable design and stow-away hood make it ideal for travel. The only issue I ran into was during the hike to Machu Picchu. It poured the entire morning and the jacket kept the rain out completely, but I was so hot from the intense climb that I ended up drenched in sweat by the time I reached the top. The jacket just doesn't breathe well enough for strenuous warm-weather hikes. For casual hiking, city travel, or cooler conditions, it's perfect. But if you're planning intense hikes in warm, rainy weather, you might want something with better ventilation.
