Plug it in, press the red button, put my Xbox Series X controller into BT pairing mode and done in a few seconds. Don't notice major lag, it's pretty great. That rumble engine is strong though! I still have my OG PSX controllers they work but it's nice to have the extra length and be rid of unsightly cords. Am buying another. It should actually like any other controller **Q: Since these work on the PS2, how do the games that relied on the face buttons pressure sensitivity work?** A: I used these receivers on both ps1 and ps2 with ps4 and 5 controllers and the response were very good for me. One issue not related to your question was my ps1 is moded with the PSIO my ps2 is original but both systems didn't detect the memory card, so I was able to save or load and saved data. I contacted 8Bitdo and they were unable to offer any reason or remedy. I was surprised they never tested the memory card issue to see if it's random or something else. Unfortunately, I'm returning them until they address this with a firmware update or other. Buyer Beware. PS.
