I did not know that they were made like a cast iron skillet but that’s what I wanted and that’s what I received. It is pre seasoned, but of course you wash and re-season it before use. It cooks well and evenly and when you need to slow the process down flip it to the side. Merry Christmas to me. I got the 12 inch size and the weight is not too heavy but it is cast iron. Food tastes great. And cleaning is easy, I’ve been doing it all my life.
