This battery was the answer. It is fully compatible not only with the XRP drill but the DeWalt DW9116 Charger. Nice fit in my DeWalt 14.4V drill.Would have given this a 5 star except the bottom outer dimension of this battery is larger than the oirginal.Normally wouldn't be an issue but my drill came in a nice hard plastic carry case. This case has compartments for the drill with battery attached, a spare battery, and the charger. It is a very rugged case that has served me well over the years. I only bought one of the batteries in this review and tried closing the case with this battery attached to the drill, as well tried placing in the spare battery compartment. Because the battery has a larger than original DeWalt OEM battery bottom out dimension - the lid of my plastic case does not close all the way, and I can not latch the lid shut.I took a dremel tool and ground down a few of the internal case dividers in order to try and have the battery sit lower in the case.
