Yes, it is true at first glance the holes to put in the screws with the pieces don't appear to line up if all you are doing is holding up the pieces to assemble, but then you realize that there is a reason for this once you are done. All you need to do is apply some reverse pressure to have the holes line up. The reason for the tight fit I realized after I was done is that is that is what makes this so sturdy once assembled. If the holes weren't a tight fit you'd end up with a wobbly product whose screws would gradually become loose over time and you wouldn't be happy with it if it did this. An example is an office chair - all the holes line up perfectly and easily to assemble, but in time you have to get the allen wrench out and tighten everything up again. Because the fit is so tight with the screws on this item, there is zero chance of these screws coming loose with movement or over time and having your rolling cart accidentally collapse. This item is rock solid once assembled and it's "because" of the tight fit of the pieces. In order to have the holes line up I just applied reverse pressure by putting the opposite side I was working with flat on the floor so that I could apply pressure on the side I was working on - it was simple once you did this. So no need to get out a hammer or bang it up to get it to fit like the 2 star reviewers did - just apply pressure by laying item flat as I mentioned and it will line up. I used a phillips screwdriver to push the screw thru the hole (it then has a nut on opposite side you'd twist onto the screw. Total assembly took about 20 minutes. There were 8 screws. I am going to buy another - this is a fantastic product and I highly recommend it. In my opinion, this item is worth every penny. This item came in 2 days though the shipping estimate gave over a week time frame. The packaging was sufficient but there was a bit of warping on one of the panels...didn't affect the assembly or end product. When putting this together, do NOT attach the wheels first as the instructions say...why would anyone do that? Pretty straight forward, little reason to mess up. There was only one issue I had with this item and there was an easy fix. Oh, and you're gonna need a cross-tip screw driver...the tiny wrench is included with the tiny bolts/nuts. After assembling as per instructions (except the wheels), hanging file folders rested on the bottom tray...not good. So instead of assembling as instruction for the bottom of the box... I think it says something like, "with flanges facing downward"...do the reverse...it allows for an additional 1/2 inch in the hang space...folders don't rub/touch the bottom of the box now. BTW, it does take a bit of finagling to get the holes to line up with 2, sometimes 3 pieces to line up...but only takes a bit of patience. The bolts/nuts are tiny...so someone with large thick fingers is gonna have a hard time with them...their placement is in very corners of the box and legs. This 2nd cart we are using to hold music binders and magazine boxes (3across=perfect fit) to sort various items, like gloves, mallets, polish...first one holds the music. The wheels roll and swivel smoothly...seems to be able to hold up to being filled to capacity with paper/folders/binders/misc. quite well. Lower tray is sturdy but not sure how useful...could have used a lip around the edges to hold on any items...would tend to slip off when the cart is moved around. A bit of diy ingenuity would fix that quick enough. Excellent purchase for our purpose. While I do realize the design is for use while sitting, if they made one to be used for standing height, we'd trade in a heartbeat. Edit: After use, these carts (I bought 2 at different times) have become only partially useful since the wheels have broken, and there are no replacements available unless I find some at a local retail store that may fit.
