It is true memory foam and keeps its original shape. The only negative is the tiny black dots that are part of the fabric, they do come off with usage. I bought a black cushion and my car interior is black so they don't show initially but if I am wearing light colored clothing, the dots sometimes get on my clothing but I just dust them off. The cover is washable and you will see the black dots in the washer but not to worry, the fabric does not change just wash on delicate or hand wash.
