I would like to use it in front of our tub...** A: I use it in front of my tub with a family of three ages five to 35 and we have never once even almost slipped. I really like it because it absorbs water and stays much cleaner than anything I've had in the past. I would not clean it with pledge or soap oil. Water and vinegar is just fine. Also this does not warp. **Q: is there plastic in this mat? it says "bamboo material with the clean lines of clear plastic." doesnt seem eco friendly** A: There is No plastic, only a fabric thin type backing....seems Eco friendly to me. but it is not only100% Bamboo front-as it does have this back (otherwise you would shift and slide a bit if it was only all bamboo on bottom). I am very happy with our indoor use of product & would buy it again. **Q: is this stain & water resistant?** A: Water resistant yes. Stain resistant? I honestly use it in the bath, and there's nothing there that could even begin to stain. But it's glossy, so maybe stain resistant. **Q: How thin is this mat? I have a very small space between the bottom of my door and the floor, and I'm concerned the door will be caught on it. Thanks.** A: Mat is nicely bound with nylon like fabric tape for a finished look. It is about 6mm or about 1/4" thick at the corners only. All other parts of it is thinner. Hope your door clears the corners it because it is a nice mat. Had the corners not cleared my doors, I would have been inclined to pound and flatten the 4 corners with a hammer.
