Willow Aster seamlessly weaves together an single dad/nanny, age gap love story with the warmth of the Landmark family and their cozy small mountain town setting. It’s fun, sweet, heartfelt, emotional and beautifully romantic. I fell madly in love with these characters, and I absolutely loved it!Having just graduated law school, but unsure whether she actually wants to be a lawyer, Felicity finds herself somewhat at a crossroads. While she figures out what to do, she accepts a job nannying for Sutton and his young son. From the beginning, there’s an undeniable connection and attraction between them which only intensifies as time goes by.Their romance was absolutely gorgeous. It’s real and honest, and it develops so naturally. There’s lots of sweet and swoony moments, and I loved that we got to see so much together time between them as they give themselves over to all they are feeling for each other. I FLOVED them - their emotional chemistry, how they become friends that hesitantly enter into a relationship that is full of contrasts, externally complicated but between them so authentic and simple, on the surface forbidden but so pure and sincere underneath it all. Willow gives us the perfect magical concoction of swoon, heart, and spice. And as always the family dynamic sparkles - so many lovable characters coming in to add richness to an already tender and sweet story.I’m so in love with the charming world of Landmark Mountain, these enchanting couples and their sweet love stories. Full of small town charm, sparkling chemistry, and the most endearing characters. Each story so adorably romantic, the perfect butterfly-inducing, feel good escape. This is one of those fictional worlds I wish were real so I could live there, despite the cold winters. I’ve adored the large, loving Landmark family since the beginning and hate to say goodbye. It’s been my comfort series and this is such a bittersweet moment. I have loved coming back to Landmark Mountain every time! There is something about the Landmark family that just hits different. It was so fun reading this after starting the single dad's playbook series! I did not realize how much cross over there was going to be. you can fully read each without each other.Part way through college Felicity realized Law School and being a lawyer was not going to be for her. She graduated early and found a nanny job close to home, with living expense (and a hot single dad, who happens to be a judge). The lie basically wrote itself. Her family assumed she was working for judge... I mean she was, just not in the sense that they realized. The attraction between the two was undeniable, as much as they tried to fight it off.It was not an earth shattering story, it was super cute and hit the single dad trope right on the head with the age gap and the nanny. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I did not back to back another book with the same tropes (like almost identical tropes). But I still loved it, I think the story of Sutton and Felicity was told beautifully, and I loved the annoying baby mama drama! I LIVE FOR BABY MAMA DRAMA!!!! (I might do a ranking!)Some series claim to have books be standalones, but really you kind of need each of them. This one is not the case. I have read this series in such a backwards round about order, and they all make perfect sense, and make me want to read the others more. Let me tell yall, I went 3 to 1 to 5... so I still need to hit 2 and 4! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect end to a wonderful series *by J***A on Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2024* It seems that Willow Aster saved the best for last because Sutton Landmark and Felicity Shaw's story is my absolute favorite in the Landmark Mountain series. Stay is the fifth and final novel, and it's got some of my favorite romance tropes: single parent, age gap, forbidden, and small town. Sutton Landmark is thirty-five, making him the eldest among his siblings, a well-respected judge, and father to eight-year-old Owen. With life getting busier, Sutton knows it's time for him to hire a nanny, especially because he doesn't want to keep imposing on his grandmother and siblings and his siblings' respective partners. Felicity is only twenty-two and a recent pre-law graduate who's still figuring out what it is she wants to do with the rest of her life--and it doesn't involve going to law school--but she's the best candidate to be Owen's nanny, even if it means Sutton is going to have to rein in any of the feelings and urges that have been taunting him ever since Felicity crossed the threshold of his home. Giving in would be wrong, especially when he has his son and his reputation at stake. Even if Felicity is unlike any woman he's ever met, can Sutton overlook the thirteen-year age difference and stop worrying about what others will think?I knew that Sutton was going to need a woman who not only wanted him, but wanted Owen as well, and he definitely found that in Felicity. I understood why he had his misgivings, but then, Felicity went from a temptation to true love the more time they were together. I loved how she always put Owen first. She had her own special bond with that boy. I also adored how she held true to her convictions and stood up for what she felt was best for her, regardless of how anyone else would see her. She knew her own mind and heart, and that's such a refreshing change. Sutton was a man who knew what responsibility was like, and he stepped up when he and his four siblings lost their parents, becoming an extra pillar of support for them alongside their grandparents stepping in as guardians. He was this man who tried to keep everything in his life on an even keel, but then came along the woman who would become his son's nanny, and his world tilted on its axis in the best way possible. It was great having the rest of the Landmarks as well, and Grinny and Pappy definitely put a smile on my face. I'm going to miss these visits to Landmark Mountain, but I'm looking forward to what Willow Aster has up next.
