I recently upgraded my residence Internet service from 1Gbps highly-oversubscribed cable to symmetric 2Gbps XG-PON. This was the perfect time to upgrade from my old (but functional) 1Gbps TP-Link 8 port switch to a newer 2.5Gbps switch. The NETGEAR was literally plug and play - all my existing CAT5E cables work well with their 1Gbps downstream devices, and I did upgrade the upstream link to the eero Pro 7 router to use CAT6A to realize the full 2.3G symmetric service.
