It is very bright and very easy to use (see video).There are 3 power switches in total. A physical on/off switch on the base to switch the entire lamp power off and on.Then there is an inner power soft/touch button to cycle the white light through low/medium/high/off brightness.Lastly there is an outer touch switch to control the coloured base, where short press is on/off and long press is to switch to auto-colour switching mode.The colour ring is also very easy to use to manually switch the base to a specific colour. Our daughter is 6 and can use all of this fine without any instruction.One aspect that would be good would be the ability to control the brightness of the coloured base, similar to the white LED light. We find as a nightlight the coloured base can be too bright (lights the entire room up no problem), so we position it so as to reduce the brightness into the room (place in a corner, behind something, or behind the curtain etc).We've charged it up once since purchasing and it is still going after 1 week or light/medium use, so the batterry is plenty ample for the product. IT comes with a standard mini-usb charging cable, but with no charging plug.The lamp itself feels very sturdy and appears to be a high quality item.
