So when I saw this Vornado fan that just fits inside our window opening, I order it without hesitation. There is some required assembly to attach the handles. It took some effort to snap the handles into place, but once installed the entire assembly is very solid -- you would never know the fan wasn't fully assembled at the factory. The slow speed is very very quiet yet moves a significant amount of air, perfect for overnight use in a bedroom. Medium speed can easily be heard but is not what I would call loud. We purchased a Vornado free standing fan many decades ago, and it is easily the best fan we have ever owned.. So when I saw this Vornado fan that just fits inside our window opening, I order it without hesitation. There is some required assembly to attach the handles. It took some effort to snap the handles into place, but once installed the entire assembly is very solid -- you would never know the fan wasn't fully assembled at the factory. The slow speed is very very quiet yet moves a significant amount of air, perfect for overnight use in a bedroom. Medium speed can easily be heard but is not what I would call loud. I use this to circulate air in my kid's room so the temperature is even. The kid's room air vent is in the corner, blocked by furniture. This fan is on 24/7 placed directly next to the air vent to circulate the air in the room so the temperature is even throughout. It is not the quietest but not invasive.
