Actually - I would recommend it! This formula is great at getting out everyday dirt, grease, oil, and "generic" stains. I usually wash/rinse my clothes in cold (wash in warm if I've spilled salad dressing, or have makeup, etc... on them), dry on low (about 2/3 dry) and then let my clothes air dry the rest of the way - using that method, my dark colors have stayed like new, and I've seen very little stretching, fading or changes in the fabric for the past 12 months of weekly use/ washings. (FYI, I also use Downey softener Total Care with most of my loads) I hope that helps - nothing's worse than finding a great pair of jeans and then ruining them in the wash! **Q: can you use it with dark colors on white background?** A: Wanda, I use it for all my laundry and it works great. I think it is especially good on darks because it keeps them from fading, but it cleans everything. I would be more concerned with the colors from your print running when it's washed, but if it's been washed before that shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't wash it with other darks because they might bleed onto the white background. I always throw in a SHout Color Catcher with my laundry. If colors run, it catches the dyes before the get on they other clothes. It works with the Woolite detergent great. Janet **Q: what happens to item with collars or trim in a lighter color?** A: They will be fine. The detergent is more for not washing out or dulling the dark colors. **Q: can i use this on my RED Comforter?** A: I would NOT use on a red comforter. If the red has faded, try soaking it in water w beet juice added to brighten it up. Note, if there is white on the comforter, the beat juice will turn it pink. I've used Woolite Dark since it was introduced and I suggest it only for blacks, grays, dark blue or purples, and denims. And yes, I do wash my denims on the hand wash cycle. But I have dark color jeans that are 20+ years old and look brand new. And avoid the dryer as much as possible w darks as well, it takes a real toll on the fabric. I usually leave in on a low setting just long enuf to get items that wrinkle a lot to look decent and take out immediately, then hang to finish drying.
