We put off putting it together as most of our hens were NOT at laying age yet. We finally assembled them and got them put up in the coop. At first, our hens wouldn't use them. Not a huge surprise, these are the same hens that refuse to sit on the roost (bunch of picky chickens). They have finally started laying in the boxes, but only after we've covered the bottom in a fair amount of bedding.Having to put extra bedding in to get the hens to lay in them means that the rollaway feature doesn't work for us, there's simply too much stuff to make it possible. The good news is that when without the eggs rolling to the front for easy collection, they are now much easier to find than when our hens had decided to lay a clutch of 20+ eggs UNDER our coop.I will say, the instructions could have been a bit clearer. But despite not having clearly marked pieces or ideal instructions, each set of nesting boxes only took about 25 minutes to put together.They are incredibly easy to clean as well, we simply lift them off the hooks and remove the bedding and spray with a hose as needed. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept but too small. *by B***T on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2019* The concept is great but the space is too small. My hens stick out of the box and the eggs typically crack because they hit the edge of the tray (hen’s vent sticking out over the edge. Also, the rollaway space isn’t deep enough and the hens peck the egg trying to get it back. I was returning these but missed the return time by a few days.
