While there is much to love about the watch, the strap, unfortunately, is, for me, a real miss. Some kind of effort at "carbon fiber" patterned leather, which I've run across in a few other watches, and have never liked it.So, I wanted something in black, with white stitching to pick up the black and accented white markings of the watch. And, not "shiny" leather because the brushing is all satin finish on the case. Plus, I like deployment clasps. Adds an element of elegance to the piece and doesn't wear out the strap as quickly (not yanking and pulling it for taking it on and off).And, of course, when having any strap that isn't a stainless steel bracelet, moisture can be an issue. The Lunar Pilot is not a swim or beach watch, obviously, but I was very pleased to see that this is one of the few leather options that is waterproof, again, just adding to the overall life of the strap, long term.Clearly, this strap hits all the highlights of what I wanted, and, for my taste, looks brilliant on the watch. Quality is excellent, genuine leather, came with spring bars installed, deployment clasp is well made and overall I think this will last, while giving the exact styling I wanted. I did look at higher priced options, but did not see anything, even at twice this price, that had the features here, of deployment class plus waterproofing, in this design.Seems an excellent purchase, and I highly recommend.
