I've got a Mac mini and I have a Tidal subscription and I also have a small collection of iPods. He's definitely improved the sound compared to the if I am playing 24-bit 192 kHz on Tidal there are clearly better clarity. Also with Apple Music I like to stream set to ALAC and again I think I can hear a difference if it's a quality engineered recording. You have the ability to toggle through a bunch of filters setting. There it gets hard harder to tell and it really depends on what type of music you're listening to.I think to build qualities is a little disappointing I have a iBasso DC06 and its got it all aluminum construction. the HIDIZS is all plastic. I think that matters because when you're using this as an amp, it's definitely gonna build up some heat and the plastic insulate. Where is the metal would help dissipate to heat. The two buttons are kind of weird. They look like they're supposed to be dials, but you just push them. I don't know why they have textured sides. Also, it's a little confusing toggling through the different filters. It briefly shows one of the six colors and then returns to green.Overall, I think this is a good sound quality and a vast improvement of Mac mini internal dac. I don't have one end over your headphones I just have mid grade in ear monitors so they're not gonna push this amp for me to really confirm the power this thing can produce.I like the idea of being able to change to the different filters. I just wish it was more transparent, and the LED made more sense. I think the size factor is good. It's about the size of a little thumb drive. They can only confirm the functionality for use with a computer, feeding either high-end desktop speakers or in ear monitors.
