**Q: does "2 inches wide" mean the clip opens to 2 inches?**
A: No. It means the width of the clip itself is 2 inches wide. It only opens to about an inch.

**Q: Please define "fairly" high quality LOL.?**
A: They aren’t bad clips, but definitely not the strongest clips I have ever used, so fairly high quality is a good description.

**Q: How wide do they open up?**
A: And inch and a half

**Q: I have a 3/4" tension rod that I need to slide the binder handle over. Is it wide enough to slide the 'long tail' across the the rod?**
A: If I'm understading the question correctly, I think your answer is no.
If you're trying to put a 3/4 inch rod through the silver "handle" part, it will not fit. If you're trying to put a 3/4 inch rod into thr black part of the clamp, it will fit but the clamp takes tremendous handstrenth to open that far.

These are nice strong clips at a reasonable price. I have found them useful for many projects. They are a good buy especially when you need to glue something flat or you need extra hands. Excellent for art projects and file keepers. This is the large size with a lot of grip to it.
