It can be used with a mixer's line level speaker output to connect powered speakers that are plugged into multiple 120 volt outlets where ground loop/60 cycle hum exists between them. This isolates the ground loop. It is difficult to find true line level transformers. Cannot do this with a standard passive DI Box because they are HI Z impedance input. Even when setting a standard DI Box to 0 attenuation, the passive DI Boxes still greatly drop the volume. This does a great job of keeping the signal strength with almost indiscernible drop in volume. It must have a good transformer. Even the active DI Boxes drop the volume a lot if used to isolate a line level signal, but not as much as the passive since the active DI's act a little like a preamp. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very effective tool that sounds decent. *by J***D on Reviewed in the United States on 21 July 2023* This is a well made unit with relatively good transformers inside (of unknown origin). It eliminated 90% of my monitor system's 60 cycle hum which uses 2 amps each running a speaker pair. Really happy about that! It also delivers a bit hotter signal. I noted however a very slight drop in naturalness and low-mid fullness or "warmth" to vocals when in use. I'd say just a slightly harder sounding presentation. Not a bad thing for a vocal to cut through in a live setting though. Only something I noticed after switching it in and out of the system.
