Review: A Complete Blast - As my title and rating proclaims, this game is rather good. As a rather casual anime fan, who hasn't even taken the time to watch all of Dragonball Z, I still wound up having a lot of fun with this particular title. This is mainly because even without the Dragonball Z theme, you're still presented with a very solid fighting game which has a lot of deeper concepts which are easy to get into. Beam battles in particular are a very cool inclusion. I can't say that the game is necessarily balanced, mostly due to the fact that in the anime some characters are blatantly stronger than others (Yegeta vs Krillin for example), but there is still a lot of skill involved, which can result in Yamcha beating Goku at his fourth saiyan level if played correctly. The story mode isn't particularly strong, but it's a fighting game, and as such this isn't really the focus, although it does give a rough idea of what happens across the various arcs through several characters. Also being able to fly around the entire map does have some initial novelty to it. All in all, a very solid fighting game that could potentially appeal to fighting game fans who aren't necessarily into the anime.
