**Q: Can I charge my 6 Plus in my iHome without taking the this case off?**
A: If your ihome is designed for the plus model. If you're looking at the bottom of your phone - specifically the charging port, there are 2 screws. You Probably Will Not Regret This Purchase

*by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2015*

I bought this case for my new iPhone 6plus the day I got the phone and without spending too much time reviewing the many other cases offered. About a week later I ordered a Spigen Slim Armor case for my wife. Both of them are great cases, but as often happens I began wondering if I had rushed the decision and should have gotten something else, so over the past few weeks I've looked over just about everything that seemed at all appealing here on Amazon. The only thing I vaguely hoped for was something "lighter and less bulky." To that end I ordered and tried what I consider a very minimalist case, the Maxboost Clear Cushion which is very nice, but a bit too minimalist. So, I've given up looking and in hopes of helping others researching cases thought I'd write a brief review about this, my favorite, though I'm mostly reiterating what others have already written.First, I'll say that this case really isn't particularly heavy, though I said I had shopped for something lighter. It seems to be very close to the same weight and overall size as the Slim Armor case though it gives the impression of being "beefier." It has a good enough lip around the face of the phone to provide protection even after I added a Tech Armor ballistic glass screen protector. And although I have not yet dropped the phone hard nor tried to intentionally bend it, this case provides pretty good cushions around the edges of the phone and is pretty ridged. After looking at many other cases I believe you'd have to go with something a good bit bulkier to get significantly better protection for your phone. The back of the case has little feet/pads that will protect the back cover from getting scratched up under normal use, and there is the kickstand which I don't actually use often but is really nice on those occasions when I do. As has been said, when the phone isn't in the case there is enough flex that the kickstand can become unhinged, but it is just as easily fixed so long as the phone is out of the case. I have not had issues with the kickstand with the phone in place. All of the cutouts seem to be in the right place, though I've never tried plugging headphones in to it (I have Bluetooth) or putting it on some kind of dock, so I can't speak to that. The best thing about this case, from my perspective, and the thing that seems to set it apart from many other iPhone 6 cases is the shape of the rim. Many cases, including the Slim Armor and Maxboost cases I've mentioned, have rounded sides to "compliment" the form of the iPhone 6. This case has an octagonal shape, with bevels that lets you pick the phone up from a flat surface much more easily. I also feel it provides a more positive grip when holding this rather large phone and keeps it from feeling slippery at all. Kudos to Spigen for this design. The on/off and volume buttons are on the flat around the edges. They can sometimes seem a bit hard to press and are flush with the case edge, but there are little cutout notches in the edge that make them easy enough to locate by feel. The mute switch is buried pretty deep. You won't be flipping it with your thumb, but I don't have any trouble working it with a finger tip. For reference, I wear a men's large in golf gloves, so I don't have giant fingers, but not particularly small either. I don't know how you'd make access much easier without sacrificing protection for the phone in bumper thickness.Overall I am extremely pleased with this case. It is attractive though not gaudy, it seems substantial enough to provide decent protection to the phone and is also designed to stay looking good. But again, the best thing is the very positive grip that this design allows me. After all, if a case is supposed to protect the phone from damage when dropped, being designed to help avoid dropping the phone seems like a good start.

Speigen Tough Armor vs. Slim Armor iPhone 6 Plus Case (UPDATE)

*by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2014*

Let me start by saying I own both cases. The Slim Armor is a very nice, sleek case but the Tough Armor case is the hands down winner. Here is why: The only reason is because the Tough Armor case is easier to grip and hold in your hand. This is strictly due to the design of the cases. Slim Armor uses a curved/rounded design on the sides, top and bottom which mimics the curved design of the new iPhone. However because of this design you are gripping the smooth plastic shell of the case and it is more slippery and requires attention when picking up the phone or you could risk it slipping out of your hand. That actually happened to me. Fortunately it fell on the sofa. The Tough Armor case utilizes a square design on all four sides. The rubber bezel is more pronounced so when you go to pick it up your hand grips the side of the case and the sides of the rubber bezel making the phone very stable in your hand. Even holding the phone is easier because your hand is gripping the upper portion of the rubber bezel. The difference in feel is like day and night. The power and volume buttons are also more pronounced making them easier to operate. All of this functionality in virtually the same size cases. There is not two cents difference between the size of the two cases, just the design. I would also like to comment on certain negative reviews I have read about the kickstand. The kickstand works fine. But to make it stable you must have the phone installed. The pressure of the phone holds the kickstand in place and it will not fall out. It swings open and snaps closed perfectly. Now if you want to break it on purpose that could be done. Just like you could bend the iPhone if you put your mind to it.There are also negative reviews about the cutout for the silence switch being too deep. While that is somewhat true, using your pinky finger solves that problem. I might add that the cutout on the Tough Armor is wider than the cutout on the Slim Armor making my index finger work with the silence switch in addition to the pinky finger.All-in-all these are very nice cases. Both cases work perfectly with the Bodyguardz Glass Screen Protector. I don't think you would have a problem with any screen protector out there. The bezels do not interfere with the iPhone screen edges at all. The headphone port cutout seems large enough to handle most headphone jacks. Hard to tell with the charging port due to all the various aftermarket cables out there. But if the cable jack is similar to the one provided with iPhone you will not have a problemThere is nothing about this case that I don't like. It is sleek and slim plus it fits like a glove. I also like the tiny feet they placed on the back that keeps the case shell from totally laying flat on a surface. It does have lip protection for the screen but I highly recommend a screen protector. Then you are pretty much protected from mishaps unless you drop it in the pool. For that type of protection you better get a sealed case. Also the tiny feet I mentioned to raise the phone just a bit off of a table is only on theTough Armor Model. Speigen states Slim Armor has it but my Slim Armor does not.UPDATE: I have read reviews where people have stated the kickstand was hard to open or locked in place so to speak. I too encountered this issue with my first case. I could not open the kickstand. And if you force it there is a possibility it could break. I discovered the problem. The stand was wedged out of place under the bottom shell. To correct this remove the colored outer shell. Then position the kickstand side pieces in the recessed grooves of the under shell. Place the outer shell back in place making sure the kickstand does not move out of the grooves of the under shell. Snap in place. Then your kickstand will open easily and lock in place when you press it back in the outer shell. I can only assume that during manufacture assembly the kickstand was not properly placed between the shells.

Full report -great case **Updated 3 months later.

*by G***Y on Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2015*

**3-month update to original review below - 13 September 2015. No changes -this case is awesome. I would absolutely buy another. Dropped the phone multiple times over the last 3 months with no damage (hard glass screen protector- also recommended). I like the stand. It is not gimmicky and has never popped out on its own. Good grip and very stylish.TA Gunmetal Purchased in June 2015. The case is awesome, and well worth the money. The sharper edges of the case help keep a secure grip on the large iPhone6 Plus. With the case on the phone, it seems less likely that it will slip out of my hands. The buttons are great- seem very sturdy and perfectly positioned. The silent/vibrate switch is a little tough to actuate - i need to use my pinky fingernail but I only really use that switch twice a day. Speakers and charging/USB port access are good with this case. The headphone jack is a bit tight - Some brands of plug-ins don't fit through the case opening - I think that most will, but I have a home theater system with a jack that only fits if I take the case off. The stand on the back of the phone is great. It has never opened inadvertently and it is sturdy. Gunmetal color looks awesome. It goes very well with my black/gray phone, but it should match all the phone colors well. No issues with taking photos.Highly recommend getting the glass screen protector - a couple good brands out there. Wife has it on her phone and it is awesome. The 3-pack of clear film screen protectors leave really bad fingerprints on the screen. I work in the military/industry so the screen gets and stays dirty.
