Review: Great cost effective upgrade to hifi - Current set up is a marantz CD6006 cd player, marantz PM6007 amp. The speakers are Q Acoustic 2020 which I had from a midi system. I noticed all though the sound staging was brilliant the system need a bit of bass and I was slightly underwhelmed. Got to say it’s out done my expectations and elevated my hifi bringing more clarity to the bass and drums. I would go as far as saying I am enjoying the sound as much as my more top end Cyrus monobloc with Mission floorstanding speakers bi wired, it’s that good. Acoustic tracks sound better with than without, so I imagine most genres would benefit from this addition. I possibly could have gone down the speaker upgrade instead but for the money it’s been a great upgrade. There’s plenty left in as I set the recommended settings and had to turn it down to 33% from 50%. I am running it with an desertcart basic RCA cable. The subwoofer comes with spikes or rubber feet to go over the spikes. I think the only improvement would be to provide dedicated rubber feet alternative as I noticed the rubber feet come of easily when setting it up. I also like the hole underneath to feed cables into the recessed area which has a magnetic cover to keep things tidy. The level and crossover buttons are still accessible but are flush with the back plate. They seem easily to adjust so depending on what you are playing you can easily adjust without moving the unit. Possibly I would have preferred the rocker switch for on off on the back accessible otherwise it remains in standby unless you switch off at plug or take magnetic cover off and use rocker switch.
Review: Great sub at a great price but... - It sounds great with surprisingly deep, powerful tones and It looks great too but now I've lived with it a few weeks the black speaker grille is really jarring. I have the QA 3050i's, the 3030i's and the 2000Ci which is basically the entire cinema package and they all have very pale grey cloth on the grilles. They all look great so the black in the sub looks really out of place. That is my only complaint, it's brilliant in every other way. Suitable for small to mid sized rooms.

**Q: Can this unit be connected via the loudspeaker terminals**
A: No, subs a generally phono (RCA) connectors as is the Q Acoustics 3060s.

**Q: Can this be paired up with the Media 4 Soundbar ?**
A: The media 4 sound bar has a subwoofer in it: the digital signal is split between left and right, and low frequency sound from either channel is sent to the subwoofer.  The Q3060 subwoofer has digital and analogue inputs: the digital input comes from the low frequency separation that has been done in the multi-channel amplifier - the .1 of e.g. 5.1, 7.1 etc. - it is attached to.  The analogue input - what I use - comes as an analogue pre-out (that is, unamplified) signal from my stereo amplifier that duplicates the amplified output to the passive stereo speakers.  The high pass frequency filter on the subwoofer stops it trying to amplify the sounds that are going to the stereo speakers.  If you could duplicate the digital audio signal, sending one to the sound bar, and the other to the digital input of the subwoofer, then you would have two subwoofer outputs - the one in the sound bar, and the other to the Q3060 - but you would have at least twice as much bass in the music as was intended.

It sounds great with surprisingly deep, powerful tones and It looks great too but now I've lived with it a few weeks the black speaker grille is really jarring. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another quality product from Q Acoustics.

I purchased the Q Acoustics M20 powered speakers, but although these are a great speaker on their own I feel that they are missing a little of the lower frequency bass. I did some research and decided on the Q Ac 3060s subwoofer and it has completely lifted the overall sound experience, it’s a fantastic speaker of a really high quality, at a fair price. All you need to do is back off the crossover and bring it up to add the bass detail to your taste and bring the level up to find your own preference.
