This may be an oversight, but honestly I would have bought it for this price stand alone. It would be nice to have the 3 extra tippets though. I generally don't have much luck with combo pack flies being of any notable quality anyway. That being said, The rod shipped very quickly. I ordered late Sunday night, and it was shipped and in transit via FedEx "EARLY" Monday morning. Like it was the next thing they did after they turned off the alarm when they opened shop for the day. To top it off, it got here (technically 2.5) days earlier than predicted and expected. Was packaged well and in mint condition. They had a nice note enclosed thanking me for my business, offering assistance with any questions I may have and even an easy way to return the item if I choose to. I know this is long winded, but these guys do deserve a hat tip, and I sincerely plan on ordering directly from their store as much as I can. I live 3 states away and it is easier than driving to my nearest Fly shop. The rod is great too btw. I used a buddies before I bought this one. Worth worth worth. If you are new to fly fishing like me, Redington, has a life time warranty on the Path rod, and a 1 year warranty on the reel. if you are new, You are going to want that rod warranty :) Hope my super long message helps you in your buying decision. Great shop, Great Rod, excellence on staying on top of my order. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice starter kit *by J***R on October 12, 2024* I’ve been fortunate enough to have used some high end fly rods (sage, G loomis, winston rods)This kit is competitive for the price. The reel is the only thing I’m hesitant about but saying that I reeled in a 6 pound rainbow trout last spring with it definitely proves it’ll get the job done. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ broke *by V***O on August 21, 2024* I really like the build of this pole, I love the alignment dots and just the overall make of this rod. The case that it comes in was perfect for traveling on the plane from Hawaii to Alaska. The reel worked great and the fly line on there was super strong. The Rod however, after 6 or so sockeye salmon on the kenai river, it broke. Some of my friends say, it was probably my fault and that I may have moved my hand away from the handle and higher onto the rod and it doesnt have strength from that kind of hold so naturally it would break. So I was sort of bummed that it broke, but then I checked with redington to see about a warranty replacement. it wasn't covered but i was able to send in my rod for 50$ and just pay 50$ to get a newer path rod 8wt 9ft 4 pcs. I am excited to go again to alaska during salmon season, and will bring the same 8wt, but i now have a 9wt 9ft 4 pc as well and that did not break on the remainder of my last trip.
