Great fun. I saw the original run of the first series in 2010 and enjoyed it. Decided to get the DVD and see if it's still worth a watch, and if anything it's even funnier now. Some of the writing is decidedly silly, but the acting is all good so it kind of validates the dafter moments into a kind of surreal comedy. It's also aged well - although the 2010 pre-hipster era does seem like another world.I wouldn't call this a classic, nor expect a serious critic to enjoy it. It's one of those ones that you just enjoy for what it is. Nowt wrong with that.

Great idea for a series, and it has some really funny moments. the only negatives are that Pete, isn't very likable as a main protagonist and it's a short series.

Its not often that a new comedy hits the floor running - PeteVLife certainly manages it! If you like comedies such as 'How Not To Live Your Life', 'Not Going Out', 'IT Crowd' or 'Peep Show' - then this is one to add to your collection. Pete is very self centered and is always looking out for No1. However he always gets his comeuppance with hilarious consequences. We are guided thro Pete's shallow life by two sports commentators - when I originally saw these characters on TV I found the format to be a little bit distracting.. but having just rewatched the entire series on DVD I actually believe it does add something different and genuinely funny to the series. Definitely worth a watch!
