Hopefully this one lasts longer than the other two (of a different brand) that started having dead and flickering lights.I didn't need multiple colors or patterns, but if you do this base has them and comes with a remote to control everything. Nice and bright. The "White" doesn't seem quite as white as my previous bases but is still nice.My biggest annoyance is that I use smart outlets so I can easily use Alexa to turn on/off all my lights or various groups. This base does NOT work with smart outlets since it includes a rechargeable battery in it, so even if you turn off its outlet, it will stay on for a long time. You can ONLY turn it off with the remote or the hardware switch on the base. I didn't realize this when I bought it, but that's my fault as the description clearly states that it has a rechargeable battery.
