This thing isn't worth the price I paid, but it fits the space I have well. The packaging arrived very beatup, unusual for items I purchase on Amazon, but the contents seemed undamaged. Every piece in the box was filthy with dirt and sawdust. Assembly is 2 screws a 4 wooden dowels for each shelf. Most of the shelf beams were warped slightly on the left side but the unit still assembled ok. Overall, it LOOKS ok but it is very flimsy and for the ~$50 I paid I am disappointed. The quality of the piece feels more like something I would have been comfortable paying $30 at very most. Primarily for that reason, I can't recommend this item.

Please believe all of the negative comments on this unit!!!!!!!  Very cheap construction!!!  It is also a lot smaller than one would expect for unit at this price point.  There are better deals online and even if you go to Walmart you will receive better value for the same amount of money.  I overlook the negative comments prior to purchasing this and don't want you to. The choice is yours but you find that it's not worth it!

I ordered this for our apartment and wanted a slim-line but functional book case. It is decorative and functional and the lines are really pretty. The reason for 4 stars, not 5, is it isn't as tall as I took it to appear but we are hanging art work over it and it truly is a nice, solid, well-thought piece of furniture.
