The two twists are connected with a very fine chain. To wear you must carefully screw the twisted metal through your ear lobe and then reverse the process when you remove them. It can be a very long and painfully frustrating process. I really loved the look once they are on even though they tend to tangle around the chain. I purchased them because they reminded me of a pair I already own that are just a little shorter. They have a much more humane way of attaching to the ear lobe. Because I like the look of them I will try to redesign the attachment but I shouldn't have to do this.
