It has a an excellent feel in the hand, feeling substantial due to the solid metal construction. The black colored pen looks especially stunning with the contrasting gold coloring and vivid red lettering. I've been a fan of Rotring writing instruments for MANY years and this pen evokes fond memories of the fine instruments from Rotring from years ago, all of which are still working perfectly to this day. This pen pairs perfectly with the 800 series mechanical pencil with the same gold accents and the same style of retractable tip. It's also nice that it uses the standard Parker type refills which are extremely easy to obtain and available in a variety of point sizes and formulations (standard ink, gel, etc.). I saw one review that stated "Not worth the money" without giving any reason whatsoever for this opinion. It would be nice to know why the reviewer came to this conclusion, because maybe the reason they have for not liking it may be the very reason someone else loves it. In my personal opinion, I think it is well worth the price if you appreciate a very well crafted, solid feeling, and good looking writing instrument.
