It operated with smooth cranking and consistent stitch size with the recommended yarn sizes. (#3 - #4 knitted worst) Performance less desirable with #5 Chunky (Bulky) wool.I would recommend this 40 sts machine over the 22 sts machine for any child as it was easier to use and less likely to drop stitches. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Clunking and a bit over priced *by T***R on Reviewed in Canada on November 7, 2019* Cute knitter and I have made a hat with no dropped stitches, it was fast too. I am not able do a flat panel yet, I think the yarn I have is too thick. You do need thinner yarn for this machine.You can't go too fast in turning the handle either or you start to hear and see it clunking and sticking so take your time. The price point, I feel, was expensive but still cheaper than the Adi brand, which is what I wanted but will see how this one goes first. I did do my research on this one and others before I made my purchase.
