The large pocket gives you fast access to your energy gels Review: Very nice hydration pack - I've been looking around for a while and this wasn't my 1st choice but based on a few negative reviews of the other brand and the fact that this had more space in the back, I decided to give it a go. I'm not disappointed. This is a fully customisable pack which is a huge plus. I'm a woman slightly larger than an average runner and initially I was a bit worried but honestly all the straps - front and side - are adjustable. If you like the front pockets to sit mid chest or if you like it more to the side - you can have it as you like. On the front there are 2 large packets each side plus a smaller pouch on 1 side and a zip pocket on the other. More than enough space for water bottles, keys, phone etc The straps on the front can also be moved up or down and bec of the way it's designed, they can't slide around so they stay where you put them. There are some loops on each side for walking poles which is a nice bonus. Not something I've used but if you do ultras or hiking, I imagine that will make a good addition when you don't need to use the poles but need them close by. There are a few reflective strips on the front for those darker runs- it all helps. In the back, there's a place for the bladder with mesh in-between that and the rest of the back space. As well as the bladder there would be enough space for snacks, a small jumper or change of clothing which makes it perfect for those day walks/runs/hikes. There is also a small extra zip pocket for small items. On the exterior there is some bungin cord across the pack and another external pouch which would be great for a small towel or jacket and some snacks you need quick access to. And yet again there's another small zip pocket for anything else you've not found a pocket for. The pack option I took does come with a silicone water bottle with extended straw as well as a 1.5L bladder. I've not used the bladder yet but it opens wide at the top so cleaning and refiljng is easy. Overall if you're looking for a pack with loads of pocket space and a bit more space in the back for extra bits then I think this will be a worthy addition to your kit. The bladder bag fits a bit weird in the backpack. Could easily be twice the price. *by J***W on 29 March 2024* This hydration running vest and backpack really surprised me. I have two others, one I used for cycling and a much more expensive brand for longer runs. This vest is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who need hydration on the go, and it's provided at an amazing price. Whether you're trail running, hiking or biking, this lightweight backpack aims to keep you comfortable and well-hydrated, with lots of pockets. I really cannot fault it. Both my wife and I tested this, my wife on a 14 mile training run and myself on a shorter run. It was comfortable, light to wear and had lots of capacity. The Fit The adjustable shoulder chest and waist straps ensure a snug fit. When I wore it, I opened up the waist straps to bring the pockets more around the front. It's surprisingly versatile and can adjust to body sizes and shapes, within the limits of its size of course. Hydration This vest included a 2L hydration bladder, which is really easy to fill, empty and clean. Some bladders I have had in the past have been less easy to clean and can easily get mould. This is a lot easier to clean and dry out, with it's slider clip on the top. That's a real bonus. A water bottle with straw also came with this, which is again easy to fill, use, empty and clean. You can get another bottle and keep them both in the front pockets for easy access while running. Storage This vest/backpack, offers a main zippered pocket for clothes and a water bladder, as well as front and zippered pocket for essentials like your mobile phone, keys, wallet, gels and snacks. Additionally, there are two mesh pockets on the sides. I found the back straps are really helpful. You can run with a small outer jacket that you can use on longer runs, keeping it under the straps for quick access when it gets cold or wet. There was a lot of storage here and in the back pockets where you can keep lots more than just the bladder pack. For a hill walk or a mountain hike, you can keep fluids and a lunch pack, extra layers, and the extra essentials all in this. Material and construction Made from high-quality nylon, the backpack is water-repellent and built to withstand outdoor adventures. It felt nice on, and neither my wife or I experienced rubbing wearing it. Zippers and elastics all seemed strong and well constructed. This vest is well put together. It is an excellent quality budget vest which just didn't feel budget to me. If you're a runner or a walker looking to buy a good quality vest, this should definitely be a consideration. I cannot find fault with it.
