Feel free to call our Technical Support team at 800-716-0888 if you have questions or run into any difficulties. **Q: I purchased this item hoping to lessen noise of wrought iron gate when closing. No instructions came with it. How does my husband put it on gate?** A: I'm not sure if there is a drill bit for iron or what...but my gate was wooden so I drilled pilot holes then installed it with the screws. That's a great question...call a local gate company that specialized in Iron gates maybe. It sure does work to help our wooden gate not slam so it definitely serves its purpose and is worth the effort to find out. **Q: Any reason this cannot be used on wood gates?** A: This version of our TruClose Gate Stop is designed for metal applications, however, we do have additional models that have screw placement designed for greater strength and stability when applied to wood gates.
