My Strat with Texas Specials was very noisy. It would be worse in certain positions, and I’d have to rotate a certain angle while playing for it to go away. It made playing with overdrive pedals a nightmare as you can imagine. Took me about an hour and a half to completely shield the main Strat cavity and at the input jack. The tape is a little thin but not enough to rip too easily when applying, and if it accidentally sticks to itself, it’s not impossible to gently peel it apart without tearing it. It wasn’t that hard to shield the whole guitar cavity—(I recommend cutting it into 1” x 3” strips and doing little by little). I’m also very happy because there’s plenty copper left to shield more guitars. Luthiers charge $50+ for this service—if you’re fairly competent with electric guitars and have opened yours up before and put it back together, you can figure this out! Then I reassembled it and VOILA! I can now play at positions 1, 3, and 5 (the sweet spots). My Strat never sounded so good! I almost cried I was so happy with the tones I’m getting now.
