I plan on using these on a cruise I'm going on, since they ARE UV protected. The pictures and comments are deceiving, because yes, you can see through them when they have light shining through them, but when you put them on your face, no one will be able to see your eyes. They kind of remind me of tinted windows in that you can see through with no problem, but anyone looking in can't see much, if anything. I recommend. And for the price of $10 (shipping included) I don't think there's any room to complain about quality. They feel sturdy enough and the lenses seem good quality.However, I may return them, because they are too big. I have an older pair of Aviators which are the same as the measurements shown for these (55x50), but the old ones are significantly smaller. Measurements here say 55mm width, but I measured them at almost 63mm. That's a big difference, and the lenses look and feel pretty huge on my face. So if you're looking for the classic sized teardrop aviators, these may not be for you.On a positive note, though, the lenses are very nice and dark, which is hard to find. That's why I said I MAY return them. In pictures they appear darker though if you look really closely the lenses are kind of see-through which is not really what I wanted. The frame is great, very sturdy. On the bus home they flew out of my hands and hit the windshield but weren't scratched, chipped, or broken which is impressive to me because my other pair of aviators from forever 21 broke into shards when dropped once.
