### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice welder but has a couple of problems.

Most of these reviews seem to be for a totally different welder. I bought my SD 4050pro direct from Simder and have yet to use it but noticed a couple of problems out of the box. It is obviously made for Americans as it only shows inches for wire size and feed speed. Simder say it can't be changed which is concerning as if they can't do simple things like that it shows short cuts have been taken on the firmware side. They could have included idiot proof settings by having metal type and thickness selection that would set up the welder for occasional welders like me who don't want to have to look up what they should be before tweaking it if needed. It seems odd that you can't adjust the mig wire feed speed independently. It automatically sets the speed when you set the wire thickness (in stupid thousandths of an inch) and welding Amps. Next the decent mains lead and plug is fitted with a fuse that has been bridged with a copper link meaning it is unprotected. As it can pull up to 29 Amps this could be a fire risk as our sockets are only designed for 13 Amps. Not a problem for me as I will fit a longer lead and a 32 Amp blue plug. The menus are easy to follow but the central button seems pointless as the two rotary knobs can be pushed to select things but it doesn't let you only the central button works then pushing the knobs will work with other settings. There is a hidden menu of parameters which looks like they are used to calibrate the outputs. Might be worth keeping a record of these 21 settings for future reference if needed. On the welding type selection screen, hold all three buttons in for about five seconds until P01 shows. Hopefully someone will let us know what they do. For light use it seems good value and the accessories should do the job. It looks good and the case feels solid, not the usual flimsy thin steel used these days. It is screwed together so easy to get inside if needed. The display is good and easy to use to setup. There are settings memories but I doubt this hobby welder will need the same settings enough to use them. After watching a few videos I am confident it will do adequate welds if I can master the settings. Just need to print off a cheat sheet of suitable settings.
