When filled to the mark it makes an extensive amount of ice to easily fill an ice bucket. My only issue would be that when it says add water there is actually 300ml (over half pint) of water left that would make at least 18 to 27 more small ice cubes. It also means that after every use you need to drain the unit as that is far to much water to leave in the machine for a couple of days.
