I bought two of these and tested them on both of my TVs. I have a 2017 model Samsung 65" 4K TV and also an old 40" Vizio, can't remember the year but probably about 2007. On my Samsung I use this for my Nintendo Switch and my Nintendo Wii U. On the Vizio I use one for my SNES classic and my PSTV. To use the device you press the button to select either channel 1 or channel 2, and whichever device is selected its signal goes through to the TV. It draws all the power it needs for the LED indicator from the HDMI cables you plug in. After testing it seems to work great on both TVs. You cannot send two inputs to a TV at the same time.
