## Description

Enjoy seamless, high-speed WiFi up to 6,000 sq ft with this Mesh WiFi 6 system. Supports 100+ devices with 1500Mbps speeds, beamforming, and easy setup.

Review: Stable, Budget-Friendly WiFi 6 Mesh with Impressive Coverage - I purchased the Halo H60X system to upgrade from an ageing AC router setup and bring WiFi 6 capabilities into a mid-sized 4-bedroom house. After three weeks of use, here’s my experience from a performance and technical perspective: ✅ WiFi 6 at an Entry-Level Price Supports 802.11ax (WiFi 6), which brings OFDMA and MU-MIMO for better handling of multiple simultaneous connections. I noticed a tangible improvement in latency and device performance under load (20+ devices), especially for smart home gear. ✅ True Mesh, Seamless Roaming All three units form a single SSID mesh with seamless roaming—meaning I can walk between floors or into the garden without any drops or IP reassignments. Handover is smooth even during video calls. ✅ Beamforming & Signal Stability Beamforming support gives this mesh an edge for range. One unit is placed on the loft floor and still delivers ~120 Mbps to a WiFi 6 smartphone two floors down. Walls are not a major issue unless they’re solid brick—range is excellent in modern homes. ✅ Gigabit Ports – Ideal for Wired Backhaul Each unit has 2x Gigabit Ethernet ports, and I’ve set up a wired Ethernet backhaul via Powerline adapters. This drastically improves backhaul bandwidth, reducing mesh latency and avoiding 5GHz backhaul congestion. ✅ Setup & App Experience Setup is via the MERCUSYS app (powered by TP-Link). Initial pairing was fast, firmware updated in under 5 minutes. The interface is basic but reliable—no advanced QoS or parental controls, but it offers device prioritisation, guest network, and basic DHCP settings. ✅ Speed Tests Using a 500 Mbps Virgin line: Wired (Gigabit LAN): 475–490 Mbps WiFi 6 device near router: 450–470 Mbps WiFi 5 laptop (one node away): ~270–320 Mbps WiFi 6 phone at max distance: ~120 Mbps ⚠️ Limitations No advanced admin settings like port forwarding granularity, VLANs, or VPN pass-through toggles. Lacks USB ports and smart integrations like Alexa or IFTTT (unlike TP-Link Deco). The app is quite minimal—great for beginners, but power users may want more. Verdict: For under £100 (at time of purchase), the Halo H60X punches well above its weight. It’s ideal for homes with moderate technical demands who want WiFi 6 speed, mesh coverage, and wired backhaul support. Not for networking enthusiasts, but a rock-solid performer for households and smart homes.
Review: So far, so good - Initial thoughts as I've only just completed setup. Had no trouble setting the units up and what problems I did have were due to the Virgin router which I put in modem mode so I could reuse the existing login and password. This allowed all my other devices (cameras and Alexa etc) to act as if nothing had happened. I had already changed the WiFi card in my laptop to be WiFi 6 capable and now I have a fast connection. I'd tried a few things prior to this but these devices so far, seem to work great. I have a large house with lots of walls and the units connect well. A week later: Still impressed with the speed. Further problems with the Virgin router though as the Virgin cable box reported it had no Ethernet connection so plugged it into the Halo (which has enough Ethernet connections) instead of the router and it now works fine. It seems that when converting the Virgin router to modem only mode, it also disconnects all the Ethernet connections although they were still showing flashing lights indicating that they were working. After a few weeks of using these, I am still very happy with the speeds but I have spotted a potential problem for some users. The main base station which is plugged into the router broadcasts to the two satellite units but they in turn do no communicate with each other so it is strictly not a true mesh sytem. Other than that, they work fine. A few months later: I've deducted a star because it isn't a true mesh sytem and it has started acting a little temperamental. Switching the main unit off and on again seems to have cured it for the moment.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Early days but it's done exactly what I wanted to do so far
*by A***R on 16 February 2025*

I've been using power line extenders to get a signal from the house to a steel framed man cave, the router is installed at the front of the house and the man cave at the back about 25m away. The powerline tech did work reasonably well but despite being some bit tech savvy, I could never get the set up to be "unified" in one network... so I was always changing network on some devices I spent ages looking at mesh wifi products and there's so little to differentiate the performance for many of the suppliers. Mercusys are a subsidiary of TP Link [so good quality in my experience] and this H60X 3 pack was on sale for £100 and seemed the right offering for my situation Out of the box, the "router" set up was easy enough but I was a little thrown by the fact the "satellites" seemed to be set up already... I tried to "add" them but they set themselves up in seconds. Strange.. they looked new and untouched So for the acid test. I moved the first satellite to the back of the house on a window sill... about 30 feet from the router. Through 2 concrete walls. Great signal! Then moved the 2nd satellite into the cave... put it in line with a window and the 1st satellite... BINGO! there's been a great signal since, perfect streaming and no drops. I didn't like where the 2nd satellite was so moved it about 6 feet but now no longer in line through a window... signal went weak... moved it back and signal is fine again. The point is when they say a strategic placement is needed, they mean it. I got lucky with my placements... will try moving the 1st satellite upstairs to see if I can improve the connections. Early days but mission accomplished... I didn't think they would "daisy chain" from the front to the rear of the property, they do!
