It had good and separate instructions for dry wall off the stud, dry wall on the stud, and solid wall. Even different anchor pieces for stud or no stud. It did take two people to find the right height and make it level before we pencil the dots to screw into. And getting the screws all the way against the wall took some menuvering, especially the top screw that was a lil blocked by the decorative metal part. But after some cussing and changing of different screwdrivers (a long necked phillipshead would have been helpful but of course all our long necks are flatheads) they are up and flush against the wall.
