The lower shaft has a very small plastic piece to keep it locked in place. Within a week it has worn down to the point that the shaft rotates to the right while using it. Now I have a burn on my arm from the engine as to use the trimmer I had to rotate it , which placed the hot engine under my forearm. I had to order JB Weld so I can build up a ridge to prevent it from rotating. The design is horrible and the lower shaft is useless garbage, unless you want to have to rebuild a part that should have been done right in the first place.
